He doesn't need an introduction: Brahm Mauer has been in the Montreal nightlife scene longer than I have. He's taken over the corporate world, event industry and what he's best known for, his quality bar service. Goss Club had an exciting meeting with Brahm that outlined his journey, his hard work paying off and how he maintains his excellence - at every event.
Having worked every position in a restaurant, from dishwasher to Manager, Brahm had ample amounts of experience when it came to customer service and quality.

"After working in every position in the kitchen, I realized that I liked working alongside clients best so I moved to the front of the house. I worked as a busboy, waiter and bartender until I became a Service Manager, Bar and General Manager. It got the point where it was like what next?"
That's when Brahm Mauer Bar Services was born.
I noticed that there was a niche missing in Montreal for just a bar service - there were a lot of caterers that also did bar - but nothing that went above and beyond for their customers. That's when I realized that with the proper staff, look and an overall outstanding customer service we can bring something fresh to the table.
We started off in 2009, the first major event we had was Kids 4 Kids - a Fundraiser for the The Sarah Cook Fund for Cedars. I got the phone call that said "we would love to have you on board" and I remember screaming extremely loud in a busy office building, I was very excited! At Kids 4 Kids that year we served 1,200-1,500 people so that immediately got our name out there and the rest is history I guess.
We have outstanding staff that we can incorporate into any setting, whether it's corporate, wedding or fundraiser, etc. At the end of the day we make sure that everyone around us is having the best time possible. We help staff for 5-6 of the major catering companies in the city because we have such a great team. We have approx 200 employees and it's my mission to make sure they get as much work as possible and always remain happy which directly reflects their attitudes at our events.

It's important for me when it comes to our reputation that we are the best in ALL aspects, so it's almost a no brainer when somebody says: we're having party, call Brahm Mauer.

I actually never thought I would become an entrepreneur growing up - I never dreamed about being my own boss I simply didn't know where life was going to take me.
When I first started my business, it wasn't only a bar service but was also a consulting firm. Mauer Consulting Group. Once the bar service took off, I changed the name to Brahm Mauer Bar Services and never looked back. I never thought it would grow to what it has today, I'm grateful and humbled at our success. We're constantly trying to re-invent ourselves, and we always try to create new innovate ways to do things better every single time.

I'm very close with my staff, we are family, I have never been the type to micro manage and always treat them the way I would want to be treated. I guess in certain aspects the hardest part is separating business and friendship.
The hustle. It's all about the hustle!
I think todays generation is having a hard time realizing the hustle is what makes you. I've always worked my ass off, I find kids these days lack that drive. Be proud about what you do and do it well.
Work hard - I don't think you have to love what you do but if you don't like it at all - don't come to work. Find something that you're passionate about and just do it well.

Maintaining excellence - we're always trying to get involved with new types of events every day and we are proud to have been organizing the Sugar Ball for the second year in a row. We're not event coordinators and we're not trying to be, we know a lot about events and when it comes to parties that are really directed towards music, big bars and drinking, that's just our thing.
We also just opened up Studio 431 in Griffintown where we can accommodate all kinds of events.
