“Cybersecurity isn’t about fear — it’s about empowerment.” — Connie G.

In a world increasingly driven by data, where every click, message, and transaction leaves a digital footprint, Connie Goodman stands as both protector and pioneer. A cybersecurity professional, published author, U.S. military veteran, and business strategist, she has dedicated her life to safeguarding people and organizations from the invisible threats of the digital age.

With a Master’s in Science, an MBA, and over 14 years of military police experience, Connie’s career has always been anchored in discipline, protection, and service. Her journey began in the armed forces, where she mastered leadership under pressure and the art of anticipating risk. Those same skills became the foundation for her transition into business — and ultimately, into the world of cybersecurity, where her purpose found its true calling.

Today, as the Founder of Safiron Technology, Connie is reshaping how entrepreneurs and organizations think about digital security. Her philosophy is rooted not in fear, but in empowerment — giving business owners the tools, knowledge, and confidence to defend their digital assets and protect their dreams. Safiron Technology, set to officially launch in 2026, will introduce advanced software tools that detect phishing attempts, unethical AI hacking, and compliance risks — creating a powerful shield for small and mid-sized businesses across the U.S. and Europe.

Through her cybersecurity audits, advisory services, and soon-to-launch technology platform, Connie is bringing clarity to an often intimidating field. She helps business owners understand that cybersecurity is not just a technical requirement — it’s a pillar of trust, credibility, and leadership in the digital economy.

“Behind every small business is someone’s dream,” she says. “And that dream deserves to be protected.”

Your career has evolved from business productivity into cybersecurity. What inspired this shift, and what does cybersecurity mean to you on a deeper level?

My entire career has been about protection — protecting people, structures, and information. In the military, I learned the value of vigilance and accountability. When I transitioned into business, I realized that the same principles apply, just in a different landscape.

As technology began to dominate how we live and work, I saw how digital threats were becoming the new battlefield — especially for small businesses that didn’t have access to enterprise-level protection. What inspired my shift was the realization that cybersecurity is not just a technical discipline; it’s deeply human. It’s about safeguarding people’s livelihoods, reputations, and futures.

To me, cybersecurity is built on trust. Every relationship between a company and its clients rests on that foundation. If trust is broken, the business collapses — no matter how strong the product or service is. My work is about preserving that trust so entrepreneurs can focus on building, not fearing.

Small businesses are often the most vulnerable when it comes to cyber threats. What are some of the most common risks you see, and how can leaders start protecting themselves today?

The most common risks I see aren’t always high-tech — they’re human. Weak passwords, poor email security, untrained staff, and outdated systems are the top vulnerabilities. Many small business owners believe they’re “too small” to be targeted, but that misconception makes them easy prey. Hackers actively seek out small organizations because they know security tends to be minimal.

My advice is to start with the fundamentals. Enable multi-factor authentication everywhere. Back up your data to a secure cloud. Keep software and operating systems up to date. Train your employees regularly on phishing awareness and safe online behavior.

These steps might sound basic, but they can prevent over 80% of attacks. You don’t need to be a cybersecurity expert — you just need to make intentional, informed choices. It’s about building habits of awareness and responsibility.

You provide audits and advisory services — can you walk us through what that process looks like and the kind of impact it has for a business?

When I start an audit, my first priority is to understand the organization holistically — not just its technology, but how it operates day-to-day, how it interacts with clients, and where sensitive data flows. Cybersecurity isn’t just about systems; it’s about people and processes.

My team and I conduct a remote cybersecurity assessment that evaluates over 60 key control areas — from network security and data encryption to access management, compliance protocols, and even employee awareness. It’s a detailed, yet simple process for the client. We use a proprietary checklist that maps risks to tangible solutions.

Once the audit is complete, we provide a comprehensive visual report that breaks down vulnerabilities by risk level, explains their potential impact, and outlines step-by-step actions. Business owners receive not just a list of problems, but a clear roadmap for immediate improvement and long-term resilience. The transformation can be dramatic. Within weeks, many clients see their risk exposure shrink, their systems stabilize, and their customer trust grow. One client told me, “This audit gave me peace of mind. I can finally focus on growing my company instead of worrying about what could go wrong.” That’s exactly what I aim for — turning fear into clarity and control.

You’re building a cybersecurity company set to launch in 2026. What vision do you have for Safiron Technology, and what gap in the market are you most excited to fill?

Safiron Technology was born out of necessity. After years of working with small businesses, I saw the same pattern: they wanted to protect themselves but didn’t have the tools, time, or technical know-how. Enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions were too expensive and too complex. That’s the gap I’m here to close.

Safiron will deliver enterprise-grade protection through simple, automated, and affordable software. Our platform will leverage AI to detect phishing, unethical AI hacking, and compliance risks — all while educating business owners in plain language. It’s not just about building another tool; it’s about transforming cybersecurity into a daily business habit.

My vision is that Safiron becomes synonymous with security, trust, and empowerment — the go-to solution for entrepreneurs who want to protect their work without the overwhelm.

For entrepreneurs who may not consider themselves “tech-savvy,” what are some simple but powerful first steps they can take to safeguard their business?

Start with awareness. You don’t need to know everything about firewalls or encryption — you just need to know where your data lives, who has access to it, and how it’s protected.

Begin with strong, unique passwords. Turn on multi-factor authentication for all your accounts. Back up your data to a trusted cloud service. Use HTTPS for your website. And most importantly, train your staff regularly — your employees are your first line of defense.

Cybersecurity isn’t about perfection; it’s about preparation. Taking small steps now can save you from major losses later.

“Behind every small business is someone’s dream — and that dream deserves to be protected.” — Connie G.

Cybersecurity often feels intimidating — filled with jargon and fear-based messaging. How do you bring clarity and empowerment into your work?

I believe education is the antidote to fear. My mission is to make cybersecurity approachable and empowering, not paralyzing.

When I work with clients, I translate technical terms into clear business language. Instead of overwhelming them with acronyms, I explain concepts in a way that connects directly to their goals — like protecting their client data, maintaining credibility, and avoiding costly downtime. I use visual dashboards, checklists, and scorecards that allow them to track their progress.

When clients can see improvement, they start to feel confident. And that confidence is the most powerful defense tool of all. My goal is always to build capability — because empowerment creates sustainable security.

Can you share a success story where your guidance helped a business strengthen its systems and feel more confident?

One of my most memorable clients was a healthcare provider struggling with compliance gaps. They had outdated systems, poor encryption, and phishing risks that could have easily resulted in data breaches and hefty HIPAA fines.

Through our audit, we helped them secure their data, train staff, and implement encryption protocols. Three months later, they passed a HIPAA audit with zero findings. That’s the kind of confidence I want every small business to feel. That’s what empowerment looks like — when protection becomes your competitive edge.

You’ve seen the world of business from multiple angles. How has your background in productivity and leadership influenced your approach to cybersecurity?

Leadership taught me something critical: technology alone doesn’t solve problems — people do. My time in military leadership and business productivity taught me how to create systems that people actually follow.

Cybersecurity strategies fail when they’re overly complicated or disconnected from daily operations. I design systems that are easy to understand, practical to implement, and aligned with company culture. Productivity is about efficiency; cybersecurity is about safety. When the two work together, the organization thrives.

With cybercrime constantly evolving, how do you stay ahead of the curve in your knowledge and methods?

We’re in a new era where AI is transforming both innovation and cyber threats. Continuous learning is non-negotiable in this field. I invest in ongoing certifications, stay active in cybersecurity communities and analyze emerging threats weekly.

My military background also shaped my mindset to anticipate — not just react and I apply that same vigilance to every client and project.

Beyond the technical side, what personal values drive your mission in cybersecurity and the way you serve your clients?

Integrity, education, and empowerment are at the core values of everything I do for my clients. Cybersecurity isn’t just about protecting data — it’s about protecting the people and dreams behind that data. Every audit, every report, every system we strengthen is part of building trust. I believe cybersecurity should be built on trust and transparency. Trust is the real product I deliver.

My role is not just to protect data, but to protect dreams — because behind every small business is someone’s life work.

If you could offer one piece of advice to women stepping into industries that are still male-dominated, like cybersecurity, what would it be?

Don’t wait for permission. When I started in the military and later in tech, I often found myself in rooms where my voice wasn’t valued — but I refused to shrink. When my contributions were overlooked, I built my own path. That’s how Safiron Technology was born.

My advice to women is simple: Don’t wait to be invited to take a seat at the table — build your own. Your perspective is your power, and this industry needs more women who lead with both intelligence and intuition. Stay curious, stay consistent, and remember: expertise isn’t defined by gender, it’s defined by the impact you make. Let your expertise and vision speak for itself.

“Lead with confidence, create your opportunities, and let your expertise speak for itself.”

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, what legacy do you want to create through Safiron Technology?

I want to redefine what cybersecurity means for entrepreneurs. My goal is to make cybersecurity not just a service, but a standard for every entrepreneur who dares to build something worth protecting.— to help entrepreneurs operate fearlessly in the new digital world era. Safiron Technology isn’t just a company; it’s a movement toward accessible, transparent, and proactive cybersecurity for small business owners.

If, years from now, thousands of small business owners can say they felt secure and operated confidently because of Safiron Technology — that will be my greatest achievement. My goal is to make cybersecurity not just a service, but a standard for every entrepreneur who dares to build something worth protecting.
