Jessica DeBry is building an empire of bestsellers—and bringing 10,000 women with her.
In a world that’s constantly shifting, there’s a new breed of leader emerging—one who writes her own rules, authors her own story, and doesn’t wait for anyone to hand her the mic. Jessica DeBry is that woman, and she’s handing the pen to 10,000 more. As the founder of Soulfluential Publishing, Jessica is on a mission to help women take their voices from whispers to world-changing works of art. Through her hybrid publishing company and digital programs, she guides female entrepreneurs in turning their life stories, strategies, and soulful lessons into bestselling books.
But Jessica’s journey to this divine alignment wasn’t linear. A former corporate ladder climber with an MBA, she once played by the rules—until the rules betrayed her. After witnessing both her parents lose their jobs on the same day, Jessica realized the “safe path” wasn’t so safe after all. What followed was a beautiful unfolding—one that involved building a successful subscription box, launching a bestselling book, and enduring a heartbreaking miscarriage.
In the aftermath of her loss, she shut everything down—except the book. That book became her bridge forward. It didn’t just carry her through grief; it became the foundation for a new business, a new mission, and a new life.
Jessica later helped a close friend publish her own book, and it became a bestseller. That was the confirmation: this work wasn’t just personal. It was a pathway. She realized that books could be business builders, not just memoirs or endings. From that clarity, Soulfluential Publishing was born—offering hybrid publishing services that give women the best of both worlds: ownership of their words and professional polish, all while reclaiming their power as authors.
What makes Jessica’s work so GOSSY is her energy. Her story is one of reinvention, feminine power, and bold, unapologetic truth. Whether she’s mapping out a client book launch, soaking in a candlelit bath with a paperback in hand, or guiding her son through a life of resilience and love—Jessica is writing her legacy in real-time. This issue is a celebration of HER—and the 10,000 stories she’s yet to publish.
Let’s jump in—tell us a bit about who you were before your business. Both personally and professionally.
I’ve had my hands in several different ventures—wellness coaching, a subscription box business, even cookbook writing. But the through-line was always books. I climbed the corporate ladder, got my MBA, and worked in digital marketing. I did everything “right.” But I always knew deep down I was meant to be an entrepreneur.
What sparked that shift?
When I watched both my parents come home one Friday afternoon—both laid off after 30 years at the same company. That moment stayed with me. It planted the seed that the corporate path isn’t guaranteed safety. I wanted freedom.
Did you have any guidance in entrepreneurship?
Not at all. My parents were very analytical. They wanted me to follow in their footsteps in engineering. But I went my own way—got my degree in communications, then my MBA. On the side, I started a wellness blog and eventually self-published a cookbook just for fun. It wasn’t perfect, but it was enough to spark something.
What happened after that?
I started listening to the external voices that said I should quit blogging and get “a real job.” I joined an Inc. 5000 company and got to watch the CEO become a NYT bestselling author. I saw the power and excitement of a book firsthand. I wanted to feel that feeling but didn’t feel worthy at that moment. After I left corporate for good and built something I was proud of, I wrote She Creates the Way and it became a bestselling book. I had a beautiful secret that no one knew at the time—I was pregnant after 18 months of infertility. I thought I had it all, until it all came crashing down. Two weeks after publishing, I miscarried. I closed my subscription box, but I kept the book. That was my turning point. It showed me that books could build businesses. And that’s how Soulfluential Publishing began.
When did the mission really solidify for you?
When a friend asked me to help with her book. I guided her, and it became a bestseller. That was the moment I realized, “I can help other women do this.” It’s one thing to do it yourself—but when you replicate that transformation for someone else, it becomes a system. A service. A purpose.
And now you’re calling in 10,000 women to write books. What’s the message behind that goal?
Write your story, change the world. That’s what I believe. We think our lives are ordinary, but they’re filled with unique stories, struggles, and strategies that others need to hear. That’s what makes each book powerful, extraordinary, impactful.
What do you enjoy most about your work with new authors?
Helping women turn a lifelong dream into reality. Most of the authors I work with have had a book in their hearts for years, sometimes even decades. One client had a finished manuscript sitting on her computer for over ten years before she finally reached out to me. That story isn’t unusual. Here’s the truth: no one benefits from a book that stays tucked away in a file folder. The moment I live for is launch day—when I get to make that call or send that text and say, “You’re officially a bestselling author!” One client was in a Manhattan high-rise during a mastermind when she got the news. Another was in the car with her three kids at school pickup. It doesn’t matter where they are—that moment is pure magic. Elation, disbelief, tears. It’s the reward for showing up for yourself, pushing through doubt, and finally sharing your story with the world. I’m deeply honored to be part of that journey.
Let’s talk about what you offer to support these up and coming authors.
I work with women through Soulfluential Publishing, a hybrid publishing company that’s built specifically for female entrepreneurs. You keep your rights and royalties, but you get full support. Our work includes everything from professional editing and design to a guaranteed bestseller launch strategy. In addition to Soufluential, I have multiple digital programs for aspiring authors. Right now I’m most excited about Bella the BookBot, a ChatGPT-trained bot that helps you strategize and map out your book and writing process. And my signature Micro Book Method, which teaches you how to write an impactful five-chapter book that builds authority and connection.
Can you explain hybrid publishing for those unfamiliar?
It’s the best of both worlds. You get the speed and ownership of self-publishing, with the quality and support of traditional. You retain creative control and royalties, but your book looks and feels professionally done. It’s perfect for entrepreneurs who want a real book that supports their business.
What’s your biggest advice for first-time authors?
Follow the BIG method—Bite-sized, Individualized, Gravitational. Keep it short, niche it down, and build a bridge from your book back into your business. Too many authors let their book stand alone. Your book should guide readers into your world. Invite them in.
What are you actively manifesting right now?
That 10,000 women say yes to the dream they’ve been quietly carrying—to finally become an author. I already know they have the courage. But they have to take the first step. They have to believe they’re ready. I can be the guide, the strategist, the champion—but the decision to claim that dream? That’s theirs. And I’m manifesting that 10,000 of them will rise and say, “Now is my time.”
Fast forward five or ten years. Everything you’ve dreamt of is here. What does your day look like?
For the most part, it’s peaceful. Everything I do now is to cultivate more freedom in my everyday life in the future. I’m by the ocean, writing. My son is playing nearby. I’ve already started bringing that vision to life—we’re spending a month in a beach house this July. But on the business side of things, I also see big things on the calendar. Winter mastermind writing retreats in a snowy mountain chalet. Group bestselling launch parties in NYC. And I see more books. I see a legacy.
Do you see yourself writing more books?
Absolutely. In fact, I launched Author Entrepreneur in 2023. It teaches the framework of the Micro Book Method and how my son—who lives with over 30 severe food allergies—helped form my deepest meaning of resilience. Desperation breeds innovation. When you’re put in a tight spot, women build the door. I believe there are three powerful times to write a book: when you’re starting your business, when you’re ready to scale or pivot, and when you’re closing the chapter—your legacy book. I’ve done the first two books. I’ll write the legacy book someday too.
What are some of your non-negotiables for abundance and alignment?
Intentional mornings are everything. Science says our brains are most creative in the early hours, so I try to harness that—even as a natural night owl. I wake up before the rest of the house for quiet, focused time to write, think, work, or just be without distractions. That sacred start sets the tone for everything. Another non-negotiable is not working on weekends. But also, bubble baths with a paperback, no tech, no distractions. And just presence. I’m an extroverted introvert. I need that alone time to recharge.
Do you have a magical formula for balance or harmony?
I look at life in chapters. Some chapters are about motherhood, others about business. I stopped chasing balance. I pursue harmony instead. This current chapter is red—fiery, powerful, intentional. It’s my bold era.
What’s the one message you want women to take away from your work?
You don’t need permission. You already chose yourself when you started your business. Writing your book is the next evolution of that. You’re the author. You’re the main character. The pen is already in your hand.
