Letter To My 18 Year Old Self

Letter To My 18 Year Old Self

Letter to my 18 year old self

I was going through some old photos, and memories from the years that have gone so fast and slow. I can’t believe it’s already been seven years since I was 18! I remember it like it was yesterday. I was having a blast, that’s for sure, but looking at where I am today – I was empty inside, vain, materialistic, and with not much substance on the surface. Just like an iceberg, I was hiding most of my depth beneath the waters. Once I unleashed it, I truly came down a road to find true happiness. & here’s what I learned along the way ;

  1. Stop caring what people think. Seriously don’t even think twice about it. Just live your best self every day.

  2. Yes you’re smart. Even smarter than your looks. Don’t be afraid to let that part over shine your outer beauty.

  3. Yes he’s out there, and yes : You will find him and (he will be yours and be better than anything you could have ever imagined).

  4. Your parents were financially illiterate : doesn’t mean you have to be. Become financially savvy. (25/75 rule)

  5. Travel. A lot. But don’t forget where home is.

  6. Let go of any identity you think you need to hold on to to make a difference. Your light shines brighter than any subtitle attached to it.

  7. Write that book, the world needs it.

  8. Stop drinking so much to bottle it up and actually talk about your feelings : it’ll help.

  9. Real friends do exist, and they’re coming…

  10. Whenever you’re not sure about something, close your eyes, listen to your gut – she will always guide you in the right direction.
