Lindsay Kirby’s journey from small-town country girl to wellness entrepreneur is as transformative as it is inspiring. Growing up on a farm in Eastern Washington, Lindsay’s early life was defined by a sense of identity shaped by generational ties and small-town values. A natural dreamer and empath, Lindsay always felt an intuitive pull towards something greater, even if she didn’t quite know what it was at the time. Her path initially led her to nursing, a role that provided fulfillment but also reinforced a conventional mold that she eventually found limiting. It wasn’t until she attended a personal development event that her perspective radically shifted, sparking a newfound passion for self-discovery and entrepreneurship.
Discovering the benefits of Red Light therapy in 2016 became the catalyst for Lindsay’s leap into wellness. She launched Sculpt, her own wellness clinics focused on Red Light therapy and holistic health, using her vision and resilience to build a brand aimed at redefining healthcare. Her journey, however, wasn’t without struggle. Overcoming challenges related to balancing her feminine energy and embracing her unique gifts, Lindsay ultimately created a wellness space that nurtures both body and soul. Today, she’s on a mission to transform the lives of thousands and cultivate a network of wellness experts. Lindsay’s story is a testament to following intuition, embracing one’s authentic self, and pioneering change in unexpected ways.
What’s something surprising about you that people wouldn’t know from your online presence?
Well, I can tell you that I can drive a combine and harvest a lot of wheat! I grew up on a farm, a true country girl from a small town in Eastern Washington. Back then, I never imagined myself as an entrepreneur. Where I came from, no one talked about owning a business, which is funny now, looking back, because farming is one of the purest forms of entrepreneurship. In my town, farming wasn’t just a job—it was an identity, a generational legacy. We were farmers because that’s who we were, defined by our name and our history. With just 300 people in town and 18 students in my class, everyone knew each other’s stories long before we were even born.
In that small community, your path was practically set. Most people aimed to stay, marry a farmer, start a family, and settle into a life that had been the same for generations. The women I saw working were in roles at the local bank, food services, or nursing. I didn’t realize there were other paths or possibilities out there.
When did you really step into your purpose?
I took each step gradually, looking back now and realizing that I was always a dreamer, even as a little girl. Growing up, I spent endless hours outside, playing in the fields with animals and my siblings, completely immersed in nature. Our closest neighbor was four miles away, so it was just us and the open land. Even then, I had a natural sensitivity—an intuitive, empathetic way of seeing the world. I observed everything deeply and spent time thinking about things beyond the surface.
I remember once coming across a pheasant that had passed away, lying there in the field. I sat with it for a long time, reflecting on its life, its connection to nature, and feeling the wonder of how all things are interwoven. I’ve always been fascinated by these hidden connections, sensing an unseen harmony. It felt like a gift, but I didn’t always trust it. Growing up, I believed you had to follow a conventional path. If you wanted to be in healthcare, you became a nurse; that’s how you helped people. I often wondered, “Why doesn’t anyone talk about these subtle connections I see?” But no one around me seemed to notice them, so I kept it to myself, assuming I was a bit strange.
How did embracing your intuition and stepping outside traditional roles transform your perspective on success, and what challenges did you face along the way?
My journey has been a process of realizing, “No, actually, this intuition—this is my superpower.” I had to do a lot of deep work with coaches and therapists to unravel the false beliefs I had created. I used to think my sensitivity and intuition made me different in a way that wasn’t valuable or “successful” in the real world. I entered traditional nursing and healthcare, seeing these roles as what defined me. I attached myself to these titles—first as a nurse, then as a mother, and later as a wife—ignoring the intuitive nudges that tried to guide me, suppressing them instead.
Then, one day, I went to an event with a friend, and everything shifted. People were talking about manifestation and the power of belief, of expanding one’s vision beyond the conventional, of thinking outside the box, even creating side hustles. It was part of a network marketing event, but it was the mindset they promoted that captured me. On stage, people spoke about how they followed their intuition, listened to their gut, and manifested their paths—that’s why they were up there, not because they followed strict rules or adhered to traditional expertise. I remember thinking, “Wait, what? I’m used to healthcare settings where you only get recognition for doing everything by the book. What is this world?”
I became captivated and kept going to events, even attending Brendon Burchard’s seminars. At one point, my close-knit circle grew worried, even asking if I’d been brainwashed. “Why are you talking like this?” “Why don’t you want to be a nurse?” They didn’t understand, and honestly, it frightened them. But for me, it felt like finally seeing a new dimension to life.
How did reconnecting with your feminine energy lead you to discover Red Light therapy, and what was it about this modality that felt so transformative for you?
Yes, one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey has been reconnecting with my feminine energy. Attending events, expanding my vision, and rediscovering my true self eventually led me to Red Light therapy in 2016. As a nurse, I was shocked that no one in traditional healthcare was talking about it. But my intuition sparked—I just knew. I thought, “This is the future; this is where healthcare is headed.” Red Light therapy felt like a revelation, aligning so naturally with my instinctive understanding of healing.
What inspired your passion for Red Light therapy, and what makes it such a powerful tool for wellness and healing?
Red Light therapy is truly one of my passions—I often say I’d hug Red Light if I could! Red Light and infrared light are natural spectrums found in sunlight, and if you think about lying on the beach, part of the joy you feel is from absorbing those specific wavelengths. Unlike UV rays, which require protection, Red Light doesn’t cause a heat reaction or burn the skin. Instead, it enhances microcirculation and stimulates your skin cells to produce more collagen and elastin, making it deeply healing.
Interestingly, Red Light therapy was first explored by NASA (or possibly Russian astronauts) and later approved by the FDA for wound healing in space. It’s not only safe but also truly therapeutic. From the thousands of Red Light treatments we’ve done, most people report feeling genuinely happier afterward. It’s also excellent for skin health, helping relieve conditions like psoriasis, reducing pore size, and even supporting acne treatment.
For best results, Red Light therapy is most effective when done two to three times a week for about 20 minutes. Infrared, while different, offers remarkable detox benefits. Unlike visible Red Light, infrared is invisible and provides a deep warmth similar to a sauna. This heat boosts circulation, promotes sweating, and supports thermogenesis, making it fantastic for calorie burning and toxin release. In terms of wellness, heat therapies like saunas are among the most proven anti-aging practices, associated with better longevity. Cold therapies, on the other hand, are great for reducing inflammation, easing arthritis symptoms, and alleviating general aches and pains. Together, these therapies contribute to a balanced, healthier life.
What motivated you to take the leap and bring Red Light therapy to your town, especially during such a transitional time in your life?
I was a traditional nurse with a small network marketing side hustle when I first discovered Red Light therapy. I remember thinking, “No one else is going to bring this to my town.” I saw the benefits—body contouring, wellness, and that overall feel-good effect. Knowing that people need regular treatments, about two to three times a week, I realized this could be a way to connect with clients and encourage them in a more holistic approach to health: to take walks, stay hydrated, and make healthier choices.
I started with a used Red Light machine. I had no money, was newly divorced with three young kids, and had just started dating someone who believed in my vision as much as I did. He thought, “This crazy nurse with her Red Light therapy idea can actually do this,” and he became my biggest cheerleader. I had no experience with employees, leases, or business plans, but sometimes a little naivety is exactly what you need to dive in.
At a time of big transition in my life, his support was invaluable. I know I would have done it on my own regardless; this calling felt undeniable. But having him by my side made a huge difference. And now, spoiler alert—we’re married. We’ve been through it all together, and he’s remained my steadfast supporter.
What was the turning point that helped you reconnect with your authentic self, and how has that shift impacted your approach to business and leadership?
I had so many moments where I felt the weight of failure pressing down on me. My life had completely changed with him by my side, supporting me as I built this business fueled by my passion for the product. But I struggled with a deeply ingrained belief that I didn’t know what I was doing, that I wasn’t really a “business person.” Driven by a need to prove myself, I became the classic service provider who over-delivered, giving everything away to show people I could help them. And it worked—but by 2021, I was completely drained. I had lost myself, my health, and my confidence. I was overweight, stressed, and felt disconnected from my true self as a leader.
Then something incredible happened. Late one night, I was scrolling with a glass of wine and saw that Lori Harder was giving away tickets to a women’s-only mastermind event. On impulse, I entered—and I won. I remember thinking, “Wait, no, I’m scared. This terrifies me, but I have to go.” Walking into that room, I felt the energy immediately. It was filled with pink, and we were doing breathwork that brought me to tears. In that moment, I realized how far I’d drifted from my feminine side, forcing myself into a rigid, masculine role that wasn’t authentic to me.
That weekend was transformative. Through breathwork, powerful conversations, and the supportive energy in that space, I reconnected with my true self. Since then, it’s been a beautiful journey of learning, healing, and remembering who I am at my core.
What advice would you give to someone struggling to trust their inner vision and embrace their authentic self?
Stop searching outside yourself for who you’re supposed to be—it’s all within you. There will be times when you lose sight of that, but always find your way back. Everything you need to know is already inside you, and your vision is uniquely yours for a reason. It was given to you specifically. Embrace the fullness of being a woman and all the strengths that come with it, because that’s where our true power lies.”
How can women connect with you and become part of your community?
We currently have locations in Eastern Washington, and I’m actively working toward expanding on a larger, even international scale. For those outside our area, I’d encourage them to connect with me on Instagram—that’s my go-to platform. Right now, I’m building a community of women who are entrepreneurs, heart-centered business owners, and visionaries, creating a supportive space to share ideas and inspire one another. Eventually, we’ll be offering consulting services as well.
What is your vision for the brand and its expansion?
I’m expanding Sculpt with a vision for the future. If you’re listening to this or reading this, in 5 to 10 years, you’ll be able to visit a Sculpt location near you, where we can help you feel your best inside and out. We’re on a mission to redefine healthcare by focusing on holistic wellness. My goal is to impact and transform the lives of 50,000 people and to develop 100 wellness experts across the U.S.
What are some of your rituals or routines for cultivating an abundance mindset?
When I’m in the shower, I take three to five minutes to visualize and fully immerse myself in my dreams, allowing myself to feel as if I’m already there. There’s something about the water that enhances this process—almost like it helps bring thoughts to the surface. I remind the women I work with that you don’t have to be perfect to make time for visualization. Just find those moments to dream and manifest. It’s my little secret weapon, one I haven’t shared before.
I also use a Red Light infrared panel along with PEMF therapy, which has a grounding frequency. I do this about four times a week, right in bed. Each evening, as soon as I get into bed, I turn them both on, creating a calming light and PEMF session that helps me unwind and center myself.
What is your secret formula for living a harmonious life?
It’s all about acceptance and regularly checking in to ensure I’m aligned and balanced.
