Jemila Bwanhot

Jemila Bwanhot and I am the founder/formulator of @alimaj_essentials (ALIMAJ ESSENTIALS LLC) which is a natural hair care brand.Growing up I was always fascinated with nature and it’s essence. Finding  natural plant based hair and body products that I could trust was a challenge for me so I took the bold step by making mine. I first started by producing my cold press coconut oil. It was a staple in my hair and  beauty regimen which had amazing moisturizing benefits. I began to get a lot of compliments on how healthy my hair looked and how I acquired the glow and supple nature of my skin became a reoccurring topic. I was then asked by a colleague of mine to make a bottle of coconut oil for her personal use.  She ultimately fell in love with the product! She in turn encouraged me to make more and sell to other people and that was the start of Alimaj Essentials.

After I became aware of my God given formulating skills I quit my day job and pursued my passion. My small business was fast growing in Nigeria and I eventually  relocated to the US which meant starting afresh. I began doing more research and gaining first hand knowledge about the beauty industry. I enrolled in a diploma course with one of the best natural formulating schools, Formula botanica. Doing this has helped me to achieve the knowledge and professional experience that makes Alimaj Essentials stand out in the beauty industry. I am driven by my passion to create high performing, non-toxic natural hair care products, tailored to afro textured hair that deliver tangible results. Part of my goal includes educating the public on natural hair care which in turn will encourage more studies and  research to be done, adding value to my community.
