Tell our readers more about you, especially the parts that are not so known from your online presence.
Well, I feel like I share a lot in my online presence. I try my best to be as authentic and vulnerable online as I am in real life to create that human-to-human connection through a virtual space. But one part of my story that I feel like most people wouldn’t know unless they’ve been with me on this journey for a while, is how it all started…and that came from a place of inner turmoil, as a kid. I experienced deep depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember. I always say that I never knew true happiness until I was about 20 years old, which is when things started to change for me.
I grew up in a family where addiction was rampant. I saw two very close family members attend treatment shortly after one another. I had this story in my head that my family was broken, and because my family was broken, I wasn’t like other kids. I felt very different. I had a BIG lack of self- esteem. And despite growing up in a very loving and financially-stable home where we had all opportunities given to us — everything that we possibly wanted — it was very chaotic and dysfunctional at times. I grew up not even realizing that I had a lot of unresolved childhood trauma that went unseen until around 19 or 20 years old. That’s when I decided that everything had to change and I attended a residential treatment center for 60 days.
Walk us through your journey to awakening and healing.
I’m now 30, so it’s been a ten-year journey. I went into treatment and that was the very first place where I felt like I knew what true happiness was. It was the first time when I started to cultivate self- love and actually be happy with who I am. But obviously, there was a lot more growth to do. I was immersed in this 12-step recovery world for a while, I was doing therapy, I was working out regularly, meditating — just going on this spiritual healing journey. And I came to a point where I did not like the title that you’re given in the 12 steps recovery rooms. You have to introduce yourself all the time saying, “Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m an alcoholic,” or “Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m an addict.”
What I noticed was, that label of me being an alcoholic or an addict was actually keeping me stuck. It was keeping me in this kind of brokenness, rather than wholeness. So from there, I found motivational psychology and I started health coaching. I was also an addiction counselor and the type of clients I was working with wasn’t very conducive to my healing. That’s when I made the transition into coaching. I still wanted to help people but I didn’t want to be reminded of my past. I moved into health coaching and personal training while I was also in school for interior design. I was young still and I was exploring my avenues on where to find myself within my career. I was in my third year of interior design, a month away from graduating and getting married, when I had this moment where I was like, “This can’t be it. I’m only 25, I’m about to get married, I’m a 4.0 GPA student for the first time ever, and I’m building my own interior design business before I even graduate. I’ve got it all together. Either I’m going to die young or there’s gotta be more out there for me.”
Then I came across a contest to win a ticket to a Tony Robbins event. I didn’t know who Tony Robbins was at the time. When I was at that event, I had this massive epiphany as I was watching him intervene on a woman who had a very similar story to me. I was crying tears of gratitude as I was watching the intervention go down because I knew the pain that she was experiencing by being stuck in her story. And I also knew the freedom and the victory that lay on the other side when she chose to finally let that go.
At that moment, I had this epiphany where I was like, “Oh my God, I’m not meant to be an interior designer. I need to go back to what I’m supposed to be doing,” which was coaching. I never had the confidence when I got my health coaching certification to actually build my business online, put myself out there, and do the damn thing. So that’s how it all evolved. I dove into the world of NLP, got certified, expanded my credentials, and my business started to blow up. I saw a gap in the industry where I was now coaching other coaches to build their businesses because they were wanting to know how I was doing it all. I noticed that I was able to get results for my clients but they were struggling to get results for their clients.
I noticed that they didn’t know what I knew — NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), hypnotherapy, and the power of the subconscious mind. That’s when I transitioned into creating Transcend Academy, which is an immersive and accredited six-in-one coaching certification, through a trauma-sensitive lens, to support coaches in having the powerful healing modalities to create lasting, empowering change.
What words would you tell a younger version of yourself?
You get to be proud of yourself. You are worthy. You’re a change-maker, a leader. You will create the legacy that you deeply desire.
How do you embody success in your daily life?
It comes down to daily practices, rituals, and embodiment. I work out at the gym three to four times a week. That is my medicine. That’s my antidepressant. It’s physical, it’s mental, it’s emotional, and it’s spiritual for me. Regular nutrition, even if I have a crappy fast food day, I’m always starting my breakfast off with a healthy Meal. Meditation and journaling. And then, in those lower points where I’m not necessarily feeling as confident or believing in myself as I typically do, that’s where my subconscious reprogramming tools come in, like NLP techniques, somatic embodiment dance practices, and hypnotherapy — as a little boost when I need it.
What rituals or routines do you implement regularly to stay in ease and flow?
The biggest one is subconscious reprogramming. When we’re not in a place of ease and flow, it’s usually because we’re attached to the outcome in some sense, we’re trying to control certain things, worried about the future, and our scope of the world, our purpose, and our reality shrinks. Which is quite the opposite of expansion, being ease and flow. So that means, I need to do the change work necessary to bring myself there. That’s the subconscious reprogramming. You can’t easily manifest with beliefs and values that aren’t serving you. It’s about embodying the identity of your higher self, which must be done on a subconscious level. Because that’s where 99% of all thoughts, feelings, and behaviors reside. So when I’m feeling like I need that little extra boost of ease and flow in my life, I’m definitely turning to my toolbox to create change on a subconscious level.
What kind of courses do you have for women who want to join your space?
I have a variety of amazing offers, products, and services, including new ones coming out which I’m excited about. I’m most known for Transcend Academy, which, as mentioned, is an accredited six-in- one coaching certification. But it’s so much more than a certification. It’s an experience and transformation. I’m a powerful facilitator of transformational change and host events and retreats. That’s my teaching and medicine. There are three levels. There is Coach & Practitioner level, Master Coach & Practitioner, and Trainers Training to become a trainer and create your own certification. We are enrolling currently in July/August for the Practitioner level. And we’re currently enrolling all year — until spots are filled — for 2023 for Master Practitioner. Trainers Training is enrolling currently, and it starts in December.
My newest project that’s been a vision of mine for over a year now is the Higher Self Project. This is a new program and it’s all about manifestation. It’s not just for coaches, it’s more for the everyday person who wants to cultivate their dream life with the tools of subconscious reprogramming. And it’s also an Oracle Card Transformation Deck, as well as a book. So I’ve turned it into its own entity, and I’m excited about it. It’s opening up in August, starting in September, for the first round ever. I can’t wait!
We also have The Master Coach, which is a mastermind. But it’s unlike any other mastermind. While of course we’ll focus on business growth, it’s more of a healing-coaching mastermind where you come to embody the tools, the practices, and the skill set on an emotional, mental, physical, and business level of a master coach. So we’re looking at nervous system regulation, we’re looking at how you can perfect your skill set as a coach, we’re looking at efficacy as a coach, we’re looking at connections and collaborations — not the business growth, but also who are you at your highest identity as a coach. So that is the new mastermind. It literally landed for me like two weeks ago. It’s going to be open enrollment, launching in August, and limited to six spots because of the intimacy of the container. Whoever comes in, I want to be able to hone in on their craft with them, and as one person leaves, we’ll open up another spot.
When it comes to manifesting, what is your vision for the future?
I’m currently in the very baby steps — the beginning process — of manifesting my next business with my husband. We are creating an athletic clothing line, but it’s being launched and presented in a completely different way. It’s not just clothing, it’s also a community that’s going to support you in living your best life! The business is called One More Athletics. The whole vision behind it is, it’s always about doing that “one more” thing. So it’s like one more breath, one more push, one more step, one more rep. Whatever it is in your life, whether it’s business, fitness, nutrition, health, or love, it’s always one more you want to give to yourself to be able to get to that next level that you deeply desire. There’s no formal launch date yet. We’re in the process. Finding samples and manufacturers that we’re happy with has been an on-going project for over a year now. We finally have our final samples happening right now with our clothing line, and are so excited to be getting close to launch! We’re hoping to release the first drop this Fall.
What would you like your clients to retain the most from the work that you do?
I want them to know that they truly can do anything and that they can cultivate personal freedom, time freedom, and financial freedom in a way that feels good to them.
What are your gifts to the world?
My gifts to the world are joy, happiness, success, and freedom. I choose to create a legacy of personal power for others to enjoy and embody.
“The transformation is in the “yes.” So the minute you say yes to that next-level opportunity is when the universe starts orchestrating and conspiring in your favor to bring the people, places, and things that you need in order to get to where you want to be.”
